As you know, we are proudly rooted in our home city of Glasgow; but our headphones take us all over the world.
We thought it would be great to let you in on some of our favourite places. Not surprisingly, these have a huge influence over what we listen to. So, each month we’d like to introduce you to the best venues, bands and cool things to do – along with our soundtrack to the city.
First up, a (wee) nod to our British roots - we present to you, London.
Fine Dining in East London
The sprawling city of London is home to some of the best eateries in the world, currently boasting 70 Michelin star restaurants. Though we heartily recommend The Clove Club from Scottish-born and Michelin star awarded chef Isaac McHale.
Located in Shoreditch, this relaxed fine dining establishment is not only one of the best restaurants in London but was the highest ranked UK eatery on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2017. Enjoy a tasting menu with wine pairing that highlights the best of traditional British food and contemporary artisan dining whilst drawing inspiration from around the world.
Wine Tasting in Central London
For those who enjoy the finer things in life and like a good investment, 67 Pall Mall is an intimate private members’ club that’s just a short walk from Trafalgar Square. “Founded by wine lovers, for wine lovers”, their extensive sub-basement cellars allow them to hold thousands of cases filled with the finest and rarest wines in the world.
To accompany their comprehensive selection of fine wines, their Head Chef Marcus Verberne has created a ‘modern European’ menu featuring an ever-changing range of seasonal, locally sourced British produce. The hefty membership fee is worth it if wine is your thing.
Food Festival in the Park
The easiest way to try the best of what London has to offer is by taking yourself to the finest food festival of the summer – Taste of London. This Regent’s Park showcase of top restaurants and world-famous chefs is a must-see for all foodies. And there isn’t just exceptional cuisine to try out – you can chill in the Laurent-Perrier Club House or watch 234 years of alchemy expertise brought to life in the surprising cocktail concoctions of the Schweppes 1783 Bar.
With more than 200 food and drink purveyors attending, plus; demos, cookery classes, alcohol tastings, and live entertainment, it’s sure to be an amazing experience. So, book your tickets (we recommend the Club Taste VIP Package) and head over on June 13-17.
