RHA Dacamp L1 awarded Red Dot Award for Product Design 2017

RHA is delighted to announce that the Dacamp L1 has been awarded a Red Dot Award for Product Design 2017. Considered the biggest design competition in the world, the Dacamp was selected from over 5,500 product entrants from 54 countries.

Assessed by an independent and international jury of specialised experts, the Red Dot Award recognises those products that set themselves apart with outstanding design quality.

In a rigorous process spanning several days, products are evaluated using criteria that assess their innovation, functionality and durability among other factors. Only the best entries, which exceed standards of quality across all fields, receive the coveted Red Dot seal of design.

The Dacamp L1 is RHA’s first non-headphone product, a portable DAC and headphone amplifier launched in November 2016. Its unique design combines classic hifi aesthetics with the capability to reproduce high-resolution, true-to-life audio any time, anywhere.

The Dacamp L1 uses dedicated processors for each stereo channel to produce balanced, high-resolution analogue audio. This unique configuration of dual SABRE32 ES9018K2M DACs and class AB amplifiers eliminates cross-signal interference for pure, accurate audio reproduction.

Carefully machined from extruded aluminium, the Dacamp L1 is lightweight and durable for desktop and portable listening. It features tactile control dials to tune treble and bass response to personal preference and gain controls for use with audio equipment.

Designed for ease of use and compatibility, the Dacamp L1 works with a wide range of inputs, and features 3.5mm and mini XLR headphone outputs. It uses a powerful 4000mAh lithium-ion battery for 10 hours playback and a charge out function for phones and tablets.

“The Dacamp L1 was designed not to compromise on portability, aesthetic or sound and took years of development so to receive such a renowned award is an amazing achievement,” said Kyle Hutchison, RHA Head of Product Design. “At RHA we’re constantly challenging ourselves to make products that offer something better and for the Dacamp L1 to be recognised amongst some of the market’s top products is an honour.”

The Dacamp L1 will be displayed in the distinguished Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany. The largest of its kind for contemporary design, the museum showcases over 2000 examples of leading product design from around the world.
